Shata Dhauta Ghrita is a one-of-a-kind Ayurvedic preparation that is used for healing skin issues and involves a tedious procedure to make that requires patience and endurance.
Shata means hundred, and dhauta means washing a cow’s ghrita or ghee. Our ancestors believed that Shata Dhauta Ghrita contains all the properties of cow ghee that is said to be obtained from Kamadhenu, which is a sacred cow that brings desired results based on karma.
One needs to wash the pure cow ghee 100 times, which will split the fat into saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. The unsaturated fatty acids leave free fatty acids, which are lighter and are absorbed by the skin, possessing great healing benefits.
This 100-times-washed ghee is not just a moisturiser but it’s a skin elixir and is packed with omega-3 and -9 fatty acids and vitamins A, D, E, and K. Let’s take a look at some of its benefits on skin.
Mainly known for its moisturising and nourishing properties, it rebuilds dermal tissues and supports skin healing from within. It is suitable for all skin types, but people with acne-prone skin or issues with clogged pores should avoid this product from applying.
Simply apply a thin layer on cleansed skin, preferably at night, and gently massage it on your face until it is fully absorbed. You can also use it in the morning if you’re dealing with dry skin.
Step 1: Start by cleansing your face and neck thoroughly, and then apply a small amount of Shata Dhauta Ghrita on your face.Step 2: Massage it into the skin using upward strokes and leave it overnight.Step 3: Rinse off your face the next morning with lukewarm water and apply your regular moisturiser.
Even though it's 100% natural and has no side effects, do a patch test on your hand before applying it to your face. Immediately discontinue if you feel irritation or redness on your skin.
Because of the thick consistency of the ghee, it can clog your pores, resulting in acne issues and inflammation. Therefore, people struggling with acne-prone skin, sensitive skin, and clogged pore issues should stay away from this natural remedy.
