Infosys has informed its employees that their performance bonus payouts for the fourth quarter of FY25 will be lower than expected, reflecting continued uncertainties in the software services sector. According to a report by Economic Times, during a recent conference call with a large delivery unit the HR executives and the managers informed the employees about the reduced bonus payouts. The report also adds that the company assured the employees that it is a temporary downturn and the company will compensate the top performers with bonus recommendations with the next growth cycle.Infosys reported an 11.7% year-on-year drop in net profit for Q4 FY25, amounting to Rs 7,033 crore. The company’s revenue guidance for FY26 remains in the low single digits, signaling cautious growth expectations.

HR communicates bonus cuts via conference call

As reported by The Economic Times, During a conference bridge call last week, Infosys’ HR executives and delivery managers informed employees that bonus payouts would be muted due to the profit decline. While acknowledging the extra hours and weekend work put in by employees, senior leaders assured them that better bonus recommendations would be considered once the business climate improves.In February, Infosys had provided salary revision letters to employees, with increases ranging from 5% to 8% for the majority. For the quarter ending in December, Infosys distributed an average performance bonus of 80% to eligible employees in delivery and sales units, comprising the majority of its workforce of over 323,000.
During the conference call, team leaders acknowledged the extra hours and weekend work that many employees have been putting in. Company executives have also communicated to some experienced employees that the company had provided favorable hikes, bonuses, promotions, and international on-site opportunities during periods of stronger business performance.

Infosys work-from-office policy enforcement

Infosys has recently enforced a policy requiring employees to work from the office (WfO) for 10 days per month, effective from March 10th. The company has also implemented a two-tier approval process for employees seeking to work from home beyond the stipulated days, with unapproved extra work-from-home days leading to deductions from employees' leave balances.
