CHANDIGARH: The Haryana administration has halted mobile internet and bulk SMS services across 11 villages in Ambala district until December 9. This decision was taken due to concerns about potential public unrest and disturbances, as farmers plan to proceed towards Delhi demanding minimum support price.
Farmers Protest Live Updates:
The restrictions have been implemented in the villages of Dangdehri, Lohgarh, Manakpur, Dadiyana, Bari Ghel, Lhars, Kalu Majra, Devi Nagar, Saddopur, Sultanpur, and Kakru in Ambala, beginning Friday noon.
According to the directive issued by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sumita Misra, these restrictions will continue until December 9 at 11.59pm.
A 'jatha' of 101 farmers is scheduled to their walk towards Delhi at 1 pm on Friday from their demonstration location at the Shambhu border between Punjab and Haryana.
Authorities have positioned substantial security forces on the Haryana side of the border.
