MANGALURU: Youth of today are the wealth of the nation, entrusted with the responsibility of shaping its future, said
HS Ballal, pro-chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal.
Success is not an overnight phenomenon but a culmination of years of hard work, learning, and resilience, he said adding
continuous learning is essential as half of what we know today may become obsolete tomorrow.
Dr Ballal was addressing the graduation ceremony for the 14th batch of
engineering graduates, the 15th batch of MBA graduates, MCA graduates, and PhD holders of
Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE), Moodbidri, on Wednesday.
He advised that students must carry forward the values of integrity, honesty, and continuous learning. Hard work remains the foundation of success, and there is no substitute for diligence and perseverance.
He told the audience that as responsible citizens, we must not ask what the country can do for us, but rather what we can contribute to our nation. Serving society should be a fundamental principle, giving back more than we receive to create a prosperous and equitable future. He wished the graduates a glorious future.
In addition to awarding the graduation certificates, VTU rank holders of the institute—Pravesh Prasanna Naik (1st rank), Shashank OM (3rd rank), Manoj Gowda B (4th rank), Anith Kumar (7th rank), Mohammed Anfal (10th rank) in mechatronics engineering; Monisha M (3rd rank), Ranjitha G (4th rank), Tushar (6th rank), Deeksha Ramesh Bhandari (9th rank) in aeronautical engineering—were felicitated.
