Reports: Packers legend Aaron Rodgers unlikely to join a certain NFL team

The 2025 NFL free agency frenzy is nearing its final stretch, yet two of the biggest names remain without a team. Russell Wilson and four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers are still on the market, leaving fans and analysts speculating about their next destinations. Rodgers, in particular, has been the subject of intense rumors linking him to the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants, and Minnesota Vikings. But will the future Hall of Famer commit to another season, or is retirement looming?


At 41, Aaron Rodgers' decision isn't just about football, it’s about legacy, fit, and perhaps even convenience. His name has been thrown around in discussions involving multiple teams, but a clear frontrunner has yet to emerge.
The Steelers have been widely regarded as the most likely landing spot for Aaron Rodgers. Their strong defensive unit, paired with a solid offensive core, could make them a contender with the right quarterback at the helm. Pittsburgh’s front office is known for making bold moves, and adding a seasoned veteran like Rodgers could be the missing piece in their Super Bowl puzzle. However, his hefty contract demands and age could give the team pause.

Staying in New York would be the easiest transition for Rodgers, given that he spent the past two seasons with the Jets. However, the Giants are coming off a dismal 3-14 season and lack offensive firepower beyond rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers. While they hold the No. 3 pick in the upcoming draft, Rodgers might not be willing to endure another rebuild at this stage in his career. Adding to the uncertainty, the Giants recently hosted visits from Russell Wilson and Joe Flacco, hinting that they may be looking in a different direction.
The Vikings have a quarterback vacancy after moving on from Kirk Cousins, and Rodgers could be an intriguing option. Playing in the NFC North against his former team, the Green Bay Packers, could add fuel to his competitive fire. Minnesota boasts a talented roster, but whether they'd be willing to take a gamble on an aging quarterback remains to be seen.
