The upcoming Korean melodrama series ‘Night of Heaven’ has been creating a lot of buzz ever since its announcement. The series is being directed by Yoon Jong, who is also the mastermind behind the hit series ‘The Lovely Runner’. Recently, however, according to reports, Ahn Hyo Seop, who was originally cast for the drama, may just be at risk of being replaced by actor Jang Dong Yoon.
Ahn Hyo Seop to be replaced in ‘Night of Heaven’
According to recent reports in Sports Chosun, Hyo Seop might be getting replaced on ‘Night of Heaven’ by none other than Jang Dong Yoon. Dong Yoon is popularly known for his work in ‘The Tale of Nokdu’, ‘Oasis’, ‘My Man Is Cupid’ and many others.
Earlier on May 15, a K-media news outlet, Jang Dong Yoon may be planning to return to the world of Korean dramas. The actor’s agency also issued a statement regarding the matter, sharing that the actor indeed has received an offer for the drama series; however, it is still not made public whether he has accepted the role or not.
Ahn Hyo Seop was reportedly set to star in the melodrama last year; however, it was recently revealed that he ended up not accepting the offer due to unspecified reasons. The ‘Business Proposal’ star was reportedly going to join the show that shows a new side of him, as the series is crime and thriller themed.

The drama series is based off of a novel by author Hwang Ui Geon released in 2022. The novel became popular for its distinct and unique plotline as well as for the author’s way of telling the story. The story revolves around Korea’s elites and deeply explores their lives in the country along with the underground nightlife that they get involved in.
The story revolves around a man riddled with debt who becomes the host of a secretive nightclub to make ends meet. On the other side is an heiress who was born in her family out of wedlock and regularly has to suffer due to her status.
