When Sushmita Sen said she was on the verge of getting married with the wrong person: 'I could have made a mistake'

Sushmita Sen is unmarried and continues to love her role of being a single mom to her daughters Renee and Alisah. In many ways, Sushmita has proven to be an inspiration for many young women with her strength and dignity. The actress has opened up on the idea of marriage several times. In an old interview, she had also confessed that she was almost on the verge of getting married but thankfully did not.Simi spoke about her relationships in an old interview with Simi Garewal and said, "I am so grateful to have such wonderful people in my life, who have left at the right time for me to grow," When Simi asked her about the men in her life, Sushmita said, "They’re all such amazing people, amazing men, and so wrong for me!”Sushmita added how she was going to get married. "I’ve been very lucky. There have been times when I could have made a mistake, but something, somewhere has gone wrong, and told me in no uncertain words that ‘this is wrong, this will not work out’. And then, with as much dignity left, I have managed to walk away from it," said the actress.She further said, "The more relationships you have, the more you grow in relation too. I have loved and lost many times."The actress opened up on why she didn't get married even recently during an interview with Twinkle Khanna on 'The Icons'. She said, "Luckily I met some very interesting men in my life, the only reason I never got married is because they were a let down. It had nothing to do with my kids. My kids were never in the equation. If at all, they have been very gracious. Both my kids have accepted people in my life with open arms, never made a face. They have given everybody equal measure of love and respect. It's the most beautiful thing to watch."
