Ranveer Singh, Sidharth Malhotra, Nitanshi Goel SLAMMED by fashion influencer for ‘touching feet’ during ramp walk: ‘Stop this attention-seeking behaviour’

Fashion content creator Ishita Mangal has criticized Bollywood actors for turning fashion shows into "sangeet events" with their unscripted gestures. She highlighted instances like actors greeting family or seeking blessings mid-walk, arguing that such actions disrespect the designer's vision and disrupt the event's flow. Mangal emphasizes that the runway should be about the designer, not the actors' attention-seeking behavior.

A few weeks ago, Nitanshi Goel of 'Laapataa Ladies' fame went viral for touching Hema Malini’s feet while walking the ramp at a fashion show. But she’s not the first one to do so. Over the years, many actors have turned the runway into a reunion zone, greeting family, chatting with friends, or seeking blessings from senior stars mid-walk. Now, fashion content creator Ishita Mangal has had enough. Taking a sharp dig at these Bollywood stars, she’s calling them out for turning fashion shows into “sangeet events” and says it’s time they stop “seeking attention”.
In a strongly worded Instagram video, Ishita Mangal compiled clips of several Bollywood stars who went off-script during fashion shows. Among them were Ranveer Singh, who kissed his wife Deepika Padukone on the cheek while walking the ramp, and Sidharth Malhotra, who stopped midway to greet veteran actress Zeenat Aman.
Taking aim at such moments, Ishita said, “I am officially done with Indian actors using fashion shows as family reunions. What’s with the blessing tour mid-ramp walk? Touching feet, meet and greet, casual chit chats. I am confused. Are we at a sangeet or a fashion show?” The influencer didn’t hold back. She pointed out how these unscripted gestures distract from the designer’s vision and the effort put in by the team behind the scenes.
Big money, bigger disrespect
Calling it more than just a minor interruption, Ishita continued, “Designers pay big money for these events. Stylists, choreographers, models, media people – they are all running on a tight timeline. Most of them have another show to run to after it. This isn’t just about disrespecting the designer’s vision, it is about wasting everyone’s time, including the audience.”
In her view, the runway should be treated with the same seriousness and focus as any other professional performance. While respect for senior actors and co-stars is important, there’s a time and place for it — and the ramp, according to her, is not that place.

‘The only star on the runway is the designer’
Even though Mangal acknowledged the popularity and influence of film stars, she made it clear that fashion shows aren’t meant to be about them. “We love our actors and the stardom that they have built but the only star on a runway show is a designer,” she stated.

‘Stop this attention-seeking behaviour’
Mangal ended her video with a strong message for all actors who treat ramp walks like movie scenes, “You wouldn’t randomly start touching people’s feet in the middle of a movie scene, right? Well, this is a one-take shot. So stop this attention-seeking behaviour,” she concluded.
