The 29th season of the WNBA is all set to start on Friday. Last year's rookies, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, are taking the lead, assuring a lot of fireworks this season as well. A new team is added to the format, which will increase the number of games in the new season. Paige Bueckers will be a part of the opening day roster, adding to the number of rookies participating in the starting game.

WNBA is about to enter its 29th season, and there are several things to be excited about. The fans will be served a full view of the famous rivalry between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, who are leading the season. It is interesting because both just second year after making their debut as rookies, and they have taken command of the league.
Commenting on the duo’s fierce rivalry, NBA legend and TNT commentator Shaquille O’Neal shared on The Big Podcast:
“I think where people get upset is, as a player you don't want to be forgotten.
I call it stealing props. ... That's professional jealousy.”
Things to look forward to in WNBA’s 29th season
Apart from the famous rivalry between Clark and Reese, one is sure to witness a lot of drama in the new season of the WNBA.
Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever will enter the season with new energy, fueled by additional coach, Stephanie White’s presence, who was the former Fever scion.
The 29th season will feature the Golden State Valkyries, a new team added to the league. With this addition, the total games to be played will increase to 44.
WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert has announced a campaign called ‘No Space for Hate’ to transform women's basketball into a friendlier, more responsible, and more inclusive space. A string of moves will be made under this campaign to ensure that the environment remains friendlier beyond the court as well as within the arena.
Also, the debutant, Paige Bueckers, will be a part of the opening day roster. With her addition, the number of rookies starting the games has risen to 19.
