Vaibhav Suryavanshi announced himself on the grandest stage of Indian T20 cricket, becoming the youngest-ever centurion in IPL history as Rajasthan Royals defeated Gujarat Titans by eight wickets in a high-scoring contest on Monday. The 14-year-old prodigy from Samastipur smashed an astonishing 101 off just 38 balls, laced with 11 towering sixes and seven fours. His stunning innings also marked the fastest IPL century by any Indian, rewriting the tournament’s record books.
Chasing a stiff target of 210 on a batting-friendly surface at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Rajasthan Royals crossed the finish line with remarkable ease, finishing at 212 for two in just 15.5 overs. While Suryavanshi stole the show with his electrifying knock, Yashasvi Jaiswal provided solid support, remaining unbeaten on 70 off 40 deliveries to guide his team home.

Despite the defeat, Gujarat Titans remain well-placed in the IPL 2025 points table. After nine matches, they have registered six wins and three losses, collecting 12 points with a healthy net run rate (NRR) of +0.748, which places them third.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru continue to lead the standings with 14 points from 10 matches, winning seven and losing three, and boasting an NRR of +0.521. Mumbai Indians closely follow in second place with 12 points from 10 matches but have a superior NRR of +0.889, giving them an edge over Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals (both also with 12 points). Delhi Capitals sit fourth with an NRR of +0.482.

Punjab Kings are currently fifth with 11 points from nine games and a decent NRR of +0.177. Lucknow Super Giants occupy sixth place with 10 points from 10 matches, struggling slightly with a negative NRR of -0.325.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals, despite their morale-boosting win, are still languishing in eighth position. They have managed just three wins in 10 matches, accumulating six points with an NRR of -0.349. Kolkata Knight Riders are marginally ahead in seventh place with seven points, while Sunrisers Hyderabad (six points, -1.103 NRR) and Chennai Super Kings (four points, -1.302 NRR) are placed at the bottom of the table.
